I'm guessing both the ICH7 and the ICH9 are freaking out over the port multiplier requirement of the Duet (even though the ICH9 supposedly support port multipliers). I know the drives are fine (USB works flawlessly) and the cable works with another eSATA drive enclosure I have. When the Duet is plugged into either computer it hangs on the BIOS for a decent amount of time and then neither drive in the Duet shows up under Windows Disk Management. Both are running Win7 ењ†4 and are in AHCI mode. The other is a Dell E6400 (ICH9-M) with a hybrid eSATA/USB port. One is an old Dell SC440 (ICH7/R) where one of the onboard SATA ports is used with an adapter that just physically converts SATA to eSATA - anything attached by eSATA is essentially just plugged into the board. I have two computers that I am working with to diagnose the issue. Having a hell of a time with this new Thermaltake Blacx Duet and getting it to work with eSATA - USB is perfectly fine on any configuration.
